Secondary recruitment, which is also referred to as continuous open bidding (COB), is an alternative way to access membership to the Greek Community at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Unlike primary recruitment, secondary recruitment will not have a whole week dedicated to it. But, women will still be able to achieve personal connections with chapters and a chance to get to know members one-on-one.

Hello Ladies!

Secondary recruitment is a great way for us to meet all of the wonderful women who are interested in joining our chapter outside of primary recruitment. Joining a sorority is an incredible experience full of many different opportunities such as sisterhood, leadership, and philanthropic work. I am so glad you are considering taking this path to membership in Phi Mu. As someone who joined through COB herself, I know firsthand the wonderful experience that I had attending events, eating lunch at the house, and going on coffee dates with sisters in the chapter. The earnest welcome I received from the women in my chapter has made me feel accepted and cared for since the very beginning of my time in Phi Mu.

The love and support I receive each day from my sisters has filled my life with positivity in a way that only being in a sorority can bring. The bond I share with the amazing women of Zeta Gamma encourages and pushes me to be the best version of myself, and I love who these women have helped me become. Phi Mu prides itself on living out our values of Love, Honor, and Truth daily, and I see it in the women around me. I hope that you will have the opportunity to see the strength of our sisterhood and the love we have for each other.

If you have questions about the COB process or are interested in becoming a member of Zeta Gamma, please fill out our interest form. I am happy to answer any questions and am eager to hear from you!

Best,
Bitsy Oberle
