Big/little week is one of the most memorable parts of the Phi Program. Everyday, new members come to the house to find gifts and clues to who their big might be. At the end of the week, bigs reveal themselves and welcome their new littles into a growing family. Finding a family you can turn to helps make you feel even more at home in Phi Mu.
If you would have asked me 2-3 years ago where I would be now, I would not have said holding an executive position for a sorority at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I, like many others, swore I would never join a sorority. Turns out, joining Phi Mu was one of the best decisions I could have made. Coming to UNL on a whim, I didn’t really do much thinking of how I would get involved. Long story short, I saw so many of my friends absolutely thriving in their chapters. They talked to me about all that they were involved with thanks to their chapters and that’s what sold me. I
went through secondary recruitment and found my home with Phi Mu.
I had an incredible (sort of) first year at Phi Mu thanks to the incredible leaders who welcomed me in with open arms. I knew that I wanted to create that same experience for the pledge classes to come. As the New Member Educator, I have the opportunity to help our new members transition into Greek life. College is confusing and stressful enough, let alone adding a whole new family and commitment as well. I am here to make that transition as smooth as possible! I am fortunate enough to teach our new members all about Phi Mu, the organization that gave me lifelong friendships, confidence, courage, and shaped me into the woman I am today!
